Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Order Jungle ("Order Jungle," "we," "us") provides an experience that helps you decide what portable backup power product may fit your refrigerator during a power outage. This Privacy Policy describes what we collect through that experience today, how we use it, and your choices — it describes the product as it actually exists right now, not a general statement covering every possible future feature.

1. What we do

Order Jungle currently operates one customer-facing experience: a short questionnaire about your refrigerator and backup-power needs that returns a recommendation of a specific product. We do not sell products directly, do not process payment or checkout, and do not fulfill or ship any order — any purchase you make happens directly with the merchant or the product's manufacturer, under their own terms. Order Jungle may participate in affiliate programs and may earn a commission when you purchase certain products through a link we show you — not every product or link has this relationship, and it never determines which product we recommend or how we rank it. After you see a recommendation, you can optionally choose to save it and give us a way to reach you about it — that part is entirely your choice, described in Section 2 below.

2. Information we collect

3. How we use this information

We use this information to generate your recommendation; to let you find a decision you previously saved when you return; to understand, in aggregate, whether the experience is working (for example, whether people complete the questionnaire, which recommendations get clicked, and how often people choose to save a decision); and to improve the product over time — including deciding what to build next based on what people directly tell us they want help with. During this early stage, we may also review individual sessions by hand as part of directly observing how a small number of real people use the product.

If you give us an email address or mobile number, we ask separately whether you'd like to receive updates by email or a text about that decision — providing the email or number by itself does not sign you up for anything; we only use it that way if you say yes. We do not send any marketing message today regardless of what you choose, since that capability does not exist in this product yet — your choice is recorded for when it does.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. We use third-party infrastructure providers — currently a hosting provider for the website and a cloud infrastructure provider for our backend and database — to operate the service; they process data on our behalf to keep the service running, not for their own independent purposes. When you click through to a recommended product, you leave Order Jungle. For most products today that link goes directly to Amazon.com; for a small number of affiliate-eligible products, the link first passes through our affiliate network partner (AWIN), which adds its own tracking parameters to attribute the click to Order Jungle, before continuing on to the merchant's product page. We also keep our own record of that outbound click (which product, which link, and when) for the same purpose. Amazon.com, AWIN, and the merchant each have their own separate privacy practices that we do not control.

5. Data retention

We do not yet have an automatic time-based deletion schedule running for any of the categories below — retention today is enforced through deliberate design choices and an on-request deletion process (Section 7), not a scheduled purge job. Here is how each category is actually treated:

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the infrastructure this experience runs on. We cannot claim a specific certification, or guarantee that no security incident can ever occur.

7. Your choices

Both the session identifier and the visitor identifier are plain (non-httpOnly) cookies, so you can clear them at any time using your browser's own cookie controls — your next visit simply starts fresh, and any saved decision tied to that visitor identifier will no longer be recognized as yours automatically. Saving a decision and providing an email or phone number is always optional and never required to see a recommendation.

If you'd like us to delete an email or phone number you've provided (which also removes any marketing-preference answer tied to it), please reach out through whatever channel connected you with Order Jungle in the first place (see Section 10) and tell us the email or phone number to remove. We do not yet have a self-service way to do this directly in the product, but a real, working deletion process exists on our side once you ask: it removes the email and phone number entirely and disconnects them from any saved decision, while leaving that saved decision retrievable from the same browser that saved it (deleting your contact information is not the same request as deleting your saved decision itself — tell us if you want that removed too). Because we still don't collect an account, name, or physical address, we can only act on a request identified by the specific email/phone you give us when asking.

We are not able to state that this process satisfies any specific privacy law (for example, GDPR, CCPA, or similar) — no such determination has been made — only that a real deletion mechanism exists and is used when asked.

8. Children's privacy

This experience is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.

10. Contact

Order Jungle is an early-stage product, and a dedicated privacy contact channel is still being set up. If you have a privacy question today, please reach out through whatever channel connected you with Order Jungle in the first place.
